50 and beyond

The mundane life of an over 50-year-old blogger

Quote from D2: I am fine with whatever the outcome because…

I am very proud to tell you all that D2 has been granted his first choice in his JAE (Joint Admissions Exercise)! He will be pursuing a diploma (Common ICT for the first year) at Ngee Ann Polytechnic. We are all very happy and relieved for him. He’s come a long way in his learning journey.

T was away on a work trip the week when the O-Level results were released. Prior to leaving, he took D2 out after dinner to have dessert and a one-on-one chat with him. I didn’t bother to ask what they talked about.

As we were in the car headed for school on the afternoon of the release of the O-Level results, I asked D2 how he felt. Was he nervous? He replied that he was nervous, but he’s alright with whatever the outcome because “Daddy has already spoken to me.”

For a moment, I felt that I was on holy ground. I could sense the assurance that D2 had, that he was accepted and loved by his daddy, no matter what the outcome was. And that was precisely what he said Daddy told him.

D2, God has a plan for you. We love for who you are. Cheering you all the way!

D2 helping his grandma assemble Ikea furniture. He’s very good with stuff like this and REFUSES to refer to the instruction manual, which gets D1 all riled up.

About Me

I turned 50 last year! I used to think that 50 is middle-aged, but actually, since the life expectancy for females in Singapore is around 86, I have already lived more than half my life span.

Similar to my old blog https://hdbtaitaidotblog.wordpress.com/, this blog is a platform where I express my observations, thought and feelings about anything that interests me.

Welcome to my ordinary world.
